The 2025 Great Aurora Hunt with Professional Photographer and Aurora Expert Andy Keen

4 Days

Overview

Step into a world of enchantment with The Great Aurora Hunt. This autumn, join me, Andy Keen, and my team on an extraordinary adventure into the heart of Swedish Lapland. Together, we’ll explore the untouched wilderness of Norrbotten during a season of vibrant transformation, where nature’s beauty shines brightest.

Why Choose Autumn in Norrbotten?

Autumn in Norrbotten is nothing short of magical. The forests transform into a breath-taking mosaic of golden Downy birch, Silver birch, and aspen trees, with hues of yellow, orange, and red painting the landscape. The nature reserves near Luleå provide the perfect backdrop, with still lake waters mirroring the autumn colours and, at night, the Aurora Borealis. With milder temperatures, this is the ideal season if you prefer a comfortable climate while immersing yourself in the Arctic’s beauty.

The Northern Lights: A Spectacle Like No Other

As night falls, the Northern Lights may appear in all their glory, reflected in glassy lakes to create a surreal, double-sided display of nature’s magic. If the solar winds and clear skies align, you’ll witness ribbons of green, violet, and crimson dancing above—a sight that will take your breath away. This is Swedish Lapland in autumn: where earth and sky merge into one unforgettable experience.

No Photography Experience Needed

Whether you’re an experienced photographer or a complete beginner, this adventure is for you. If you don’t have your own camera, I’ll ensure you don’t miss a moment—my team and I will capture stunning images throughout the journey. From personal portraits beneath the Aurora to wide-angle shots of the Arctic sky, we’ll provide you with beautiful, complimentary photos so you can cherish this magical experience forever.

Discover Lapland’s Hidden Gems

  • Gammelstad Church Town: Step into history at this UNESCO World Heritage site, where medieval stone churches are surrounded by charming wooden cottages framed by fiery autumn leaves. Walking through its cobbled streets feels like stepping into a living museum—a unique chance to connect with Lapland’s rich past.
  • Flight Museum F21: Located near Kallax Airport, this fascinating museum showcases Northern Sweden’s aviation history. From vintage aircraft to rescue vehicles, it offers an engaging glimpse into the region’s military aviation heritage.

Personalised Photography Tuition

In the evenings, I’ll work with you to master low-light photography techniques, guiding you in capturing the Northern Lights like a pro. Whether you’re refining your skills or picking up a camera for the first time, I’ll tailor the tuition to your needs. And if photography isn’t your focus, that’s fine too—our Aurora Chases are thrilling adventures in their own right. As we journey into the wilderness, we’ll keep warm with hot drinks and may even spot wildlife, like moose or reindeer, under the starry skies.

The Magic of Swedish Lapland

This isn’t just a journey—it’s a celebration of nature’s beauty at a time when the land is alive with colour and magic. From the fiery autumn hues to the serene glow of the Northern Lights, The Great Aurora Hunt is an experience that will stay with you long after it ends.
